Safety Reminder to Drivers once they exit Route 80

The area that Camp Victory is located around is rural and contains many Amish Farms.

Watch for horse and buggys when you see this sign!

It is quite possible that you might share the road with an Amish horse and buggy while driving to camp.

We ask that you are aware of this, please drive carefully, be courteous, and obey the posted speed limits. Arrive safe, and don't worry, we also will leave the light on if you arrive a bit late.

Thanks,

Camp Little People Staff

Camp Little People Policies

Camp Little People 2007
June 8 - 10, 2007
Camp Victory
Millville, Pa.
CLP Policies revised 3/20/2007

Camp Little People is a partner group of Camp Victory. Therefore, Camp Little People must follow Camp Victory’s Rules and Responsibilities, Disaster Plan, Emergency Procedures and the Procedure For Missing Person Search. This information is enclosed in your registration packet. Please read it carefully. If these rules are broken, the person or persons involved will be asked to leave the premises and no refund will be given. The decision to allow any violators to return for future camps will be made by the Directors of Camp Little People.

The other partner groups of Camp Victory have trained “counselors”  during their camps due to the fact that only the children come to camp during their camp week.  Since we are a family camp, we are not required to have trained counselors to be responsible for the children.  You, the parents/legal guardian are considered the  “ our counselors”  for our camp as you will be responsible for your child/children during the weekend.   As emphasized, this is a family camp, designed to be an opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together.

Each member of our staff is sincere and dedicated in planning for you to having an enjoyable, memorable and safe experience at camp.  Each staff member has assigned tasks to perform during the weekend to make it a success.  Our staff member are constantly watching over the children while performing their assigned tasks and are available when you need them.  We remind you not to assume the staff will watch your child/children so that you have some free time.

Leaving the camp premises during the Camp Little People Camp.  The directors and staff believe that the Camp Little People weekend and Camp Victory offer a variety of activities on the premises to fulfill your weekend, but we also understand this may be a mini-vacation for some families and that you may want to see nearby attractions.  With this understanding, we ask you to respect and abide by the following rules to insure a safe and enjoyable weekend:    1.  Camp Little People pays for liability insurance to cover our campers and staff during our camp session on the Camp Victory premises.  Please understand if you leave the premises for any period of time, you will not be covered under the Camp Victory liability insurance during that period of time.    2.  The family must sign out and sign back in with the directors.  We must know and be accountable for our campers in case there is a disaster or emergency.  We sincerely care about the safety of our campers and ask for your cooperation.  3.  We prefer you to leave as a family.  If you need to leave for a quick errand, one parent must remain with the child or children on the premises.  Please do not leave your child or children on the camp premises unattended by you.  The staff or other parents are not to be responsible for your child/children as this is intended to be a “family camp” for families to spend time together.   Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Any child/teen going to the low ropes/climbing wall area must have a parent/guardian with them.

No child/teen is allowed near the pond area unless they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Parents/guardians must be with their child/children at all times no matter the age or how long many years they have attended camp.

The golf carts are for transporting campers from one location to another. Designated drivers have been assigned. No other persons are allowed to drive the golf carts. Please no joy riding. You may have a ride with the driver unless asked to get off for another camper (s) who may need transported.

We pay the Camp Victory staff to do most of the cleaning . Please help us in those areas. The responsibilities will be posted on the cabin board near the doors. Your help is much appreciated.

All medicines must be kept in the Med Shed upon check in.

No illicit drugs, no alcohol, no smoking and no pets.

Protective gear, i.e. helmets, must be worn when biking or rollerblading.

REGARDING FOOD:

Meals are at the times scheduled. Please be on time. We will be forming two lines, one in the large dining hall and one in the small dining hall. After each meal, please take your trays to the dishwashing area and follow the directions on the wall. Please help in wiping off tables after each meal. After Sunday lunch, we need to wipe the tables and fold the chairs and place them on the tables for the Cleaning Staff to clean the floors . The small dining hall will be done after breakfast on Sunday. At that time the small dining hall will be closed.

Registration for Camp Little People  will be accepted on a first come first serve basis as our limit is 130 campers.  Camp fees must be submitted with the completed registration form and  completed  health forms (one for each person attending) in order to have a reserved camp spot for your family.  If all spots are filled, families will have their fees returned and will be informed that they are on a waiting list and of their position on the list.

Families must cancel at least 30 days prior to camp in order to receive a full refund of their camp fees. If families cancels less than 30 days prior to camp, they will be refunded 90% of their fees. Exceptions to this rule are in case of serious illness or death in the family.  Camp Little People must pay Camp Victory in advance and will not receive a refund for campers who fail to come.
Families are asked to notify camp director ASAP of a cancellation so we may contact the next family on the waiting list.
