Camp
Little People was created to allow those of short statue to enjoy
a camping experience along with their families.
-
Started
in 1997 by Joyce Davis, whose daughter has achondroplasia dwarfism.
Joyce wanted to provide a camping experience for her daughter and
other children with dwarfism.
-
During
the first two years, camp was held in their backyard. It was attended
by 40 other children and their families. They pitched tents, played
games, attended the Benton Rodeo, and enjoyed the backyard pool.
-
Over
the years the attendance grew too large for their backyard. So the
camp was moved to the facilities at Camp Victory in Millville Pa.
Camp Victory is a camping facility designed for children that are
chronically or physically challenged.
What is there to do at Camp Little People?
